Gypsy Rose Blanchard has revealed details of her physical transformation and explained what’s really behind her weight loss, more than two years after her release from prison. After a stint behind bars for her role in the murder of her mother, Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard, her life changed.
Exactly those changes, according to her, led to weight loss. Instead of prison food, which was often unhealthy, she began eating home-cooked meals and trying a more varied diet, which spontaneously reduced her body weight.
In a video published on Instagram on March 4, she showed the results by stepping on the scale; at the time, she weighed 108 pounds, and she highlighted her slimmer, more defined figure.
Gypsy, now 34, and with a daughter by her partner, Ken Urker, emphasizes that losing weight was not her primary goal. She does not adhere to any special training regime, does not restrict food intake, and does not use prescription therapies such as GLP-1.
Essentially, her transformation is not the result of traditional weight-loss methods but rather a consequence of changes in her living environment and daily habits –leading to natural, unintentional weight loss.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard emphasizes that her weight loss was unplanned and did not result from special effort: simply, her life changed completely after her release, and her body spontaneously reacted to the new circumstances.
From December 2023, she began using that freedom for personal growth, especially in her appearance. In addition to losing weight, the participant on the show Life After Lockup also decided to have a nose job in April 2024, and in the meantime, she changed her lifestyle and wardrobe.
However, some of these changes were temporary. Due to prolonged bleaching, her hair was damaged, so she had to cut it shorter than she wanted. As she does not like her short hair, she found a solution in wearing quality wigs until her natural hair recovers and grows back.
What is clear – she has no plans to stop. Gypsy sees the changes as part of her new life and personal development. She said that it is never too late for small or big transformations and that everyone should find a way to express themselves.
