She has been part of Hollywood for decades, starting from the time people first took notice of her in 1973, playing the role of Solitaire in Live and Let Die, co-starring with Bond, played by Roger Moore.
What is perhaps just as interesting as Jane’s long stay in Hollywood is how little she has changed over time, and instead of crediting this to something dramatic, Jane prefers to credit this to something simple, something she has been following for quite some time now.
In an interview with People, Jane shared with them how she has been able to stay active and feel good, even in her seventies. What is perhaps quite interesting is that Jane’s day does not start with anything dramatic, with any particular routine or schedule, as this actress first begins with something quite simple and, for some people, quite strange.
Prior to even coming out of bed, Jane makes it a point to move around, although this is not in the form of stretching, as this is more a playful kind of movement.
“I kind of wiggle first,” Jane explained, as this is done to ensure that all parts are awake prior to coming out of bed, as this was first started by one of her friends, who was a ballerina, as this friend told Jane to move as if one were a fish prior to coming out of bed, and although this may be quite strange, this has been working for Jane, so this is something that she has been following for quite some time now.

After this, Jane’s activities for the day are quite simple, as her partner, John Zambetti, most often brings her coffee, which is black, to start her day, rather than immediately engaging in anything active. However, if time allows, Jane would engage in some form of physical exercise, which is inspired by Pilates.
Jane would also not always have time to work out, like when she was filming a movie. In this case, Jane would just make do. Jane shared that at times, she would do pliés in her costume while reviewing her lines. Although this would probably be quite funny to those around her, this is just Jane’s way of moving and not sitting still.
Another part of Jane’s life that is as regular as her workout routine would be her personal hygiene and supplements. Jane washes her hair every day. This is something that she has been doing way before this interview and does not forget her vitamins and her collagen powder either.
When it comes to her diet, this is quite simple and balanced as well. Jane is more of a vegetarian, and her meals are quite simple and straightforward. Breakfast is plain, like scrambled eggs.
One thing that she is being very careful with these days is the sun. She does not think that this was always the case, though. She went on to explain that when she first came to Hollywood, people told her that the sun was her friend and that she should get a tan. She knew this was not a good idea later on.
She said, “I remember when I wanted a tan, people were telling me, ‘You know, if you want a tan, you should sit outside with a reflector board, so the rays of the sun are stronger on you.’ Of course, at the time, I didn’t know the full ramifications of all of that, but I know now.”
Sunscreens are something she cannot live without. She applies sunscreen daily, using SPF 40. It’s not just about the way you look, it’s about the way you’re going to end up in the long run.
Doing period dramas also helped reinforce the habit. Most of the roles she did were period dramas, and the character had to maintain the way she looked, which meant keeping the way she looked natural and light. So, she had to avoid the sun altogether. It became second nature.
But when it comes to Jane, being healthy isn’t just about the way you physically change or the way you physically take care of your body. It’s about the amount of time you put into your life.

Family is one thing that is really important to her, and this is shown in how much time she spends to stay in touch with her family despite how busy she is. For her, these moments are the most important things in her life.
Another part of Jane’s routine is to spend as much time as possible outside. This is shown in how much time and love she has for her garden. However, it is not just how much time and love she has for her garden, but how much time she has to spend outdoors.
There is a certain level of simplicity in this part of Jane’s routine, and this is quite intentional as well. This is because she gets to spend time with things that are tangible and real in her life, as opposed to things in the world of work.
However, Jane does not measure things in a complicated way. What she needs to know is that the day has been useful in some way, whether it is in helping someone, creating something, or being with someone else.
It is this part of Jane’s life that has defined who she is today, and this is not shown in how extreme things in her routine are, but in how small things in her routine add up and how repetitive small things in her life are.
